The short version.
You're an individual person using Voto on your iPhone. This is a consumer-facing policy — it doesn't talk about Data Processing Agreements or enterprise DPAs because those don't apply here. If you're looking for the team version, head to try.voto/privacy.
What we collect
- Email — so we can reach you (waitlist, receipts, account resets).
- Your quest activity — which quests you've done, streaks, XP. Tied to your account so your progress syncs across devices.
- Prompts you write inside Voto — stored to your personal prompt library, never used to train anyone's model.
- Product analytics and replay — via PostHog. We collect page views, button clicks, referrers, interactive tool progress, feature flag exposure, experiments, surveys, errors, and session replay so we can improve Voto and debug broken flows.
- Crash and performance telemetry — if the app crashes, the stack trace and device model are sent so we can fix it. Never the prompt you were writing.
What we never do
- Sell your data. Ever. To anyone. For any reason.
- Share your prompts with model providers for training.
- Track you across sites you visit after leaving Voto.
- Use dark patterns to keep you subscribed when you want out.
Who processes your data
- Convex / Clerk — account and progress storage.
- Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI — model inference for your prompt-critique sessions. Conversations are sent via their enterprise APIs, which do not retain data for training.
- Dodo Payments — subscription billing; we never see your full card number.
- Apple — if you subscribe through the App Store, your payment goes through Apple; we only ever see an anonymised receipt.
- Cloudflare — the site you're reading is hosted here; incoming emails from this page are stored in a Cloudflare KV namespace for up to a year.
- PostHog — product analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking, and product debugging.
Your rights (UK/EU)
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to: access a copy of everything we hold about you, correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, and complain to the ICO if you think we've mishandled it. Email privacy@try.voto and we'll respond within 30 days — usually within a week.
Cookies
Voto does not use advertising cookies. PostHog may use first-party cookies or local storage to connect visits, replay sessions, feature flags, experiments, and submitted leads across Voto pages. Interactive tools also keep query-string state so you can reload a shared result URL.
Children
Voto is not intended for anyone under 16. If you're under 16, please don't sign up.
Changes
If we meaningfully change this policy, we'll email every active account at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
